🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from De Queen Public Schools! 🇺🇸
As America celebrates 250 years of independence, we honor the courage, sacrifice, innovation, and determination of those who came before us. Their legacy reminds us that every generation has the opportunity to shape what comes next.
At De Queen Public Schools, we're proud to invest in the next generation of leaders, innovators, educators, first responders, healthcare professionals, business owners, and public servants who will help write America's next chapter.
We wish our students, staff, families, and community a safe and meaningful Fourth of July as we celebrate our nation's past and look with hope toward its future. #LeopardPride #LeopardFamily

The De Queen School District proudly recognizes and honors Dr. Kenny Martin as he concludes 14 years of dedicated service on the De Queen Board of Education.
Since joining the board in 2012, Dr. Martin has played an important role in helping guide the district through a period of significant growth and progress. His leadership, vision, and commitment to the students, staff, and community of De Queen have helped shape many of the district's most impactful initiatives.
Serving as Board President since 2019, Dr. Martin has helped lead the district through numerous milestones, including the successful passage of a bond issue and millage that paved the way for the construction of De Queen's new high school. During his tenure, the district also completed renovations and improvements to athletic facilities across the campus, expanded opportunities for agricultural education through the construction of the Animal Science Facility, and supported efforts to provide meaningful salary increases for teachers and staff.
Beyond his service as a board member, Dr. Martin and his family have long been supporters of De Queen Schools. All four of his children graduated from De Queen High School with honors, reflecting the family's strong connection to the district and belief in public education.
Superintendent Jason Sanders expressed gratitude for Dr. Martin's years of service and leadership.
"Dr. Martin has consistently placed the needs of students and the future of our district at the forefront of every decision. His dedication, thoughtful leadership, and commitment to excellence have left a lasting impact on De Queen Schools. We are grateful for his service and wish him the very best in the future."
The De Queen School District extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Martin for his 14 years of service and the countless hours he has devoted to helping provide opportunities for generations of De Queen students.
During Monday night's meeting, the Board of Education elected Brad Patterson to fill the vacant Zone 4 position following Dr. Martin's resignation. The board also voted to table the election of board officers until its July meeting.
The De Queen School District welcomes Mr. Patterson to the Board of Education and looks forward to his service to the students, staff, and community of De Queen.
