We were honored to welcome State Representative DeAnn Vaught to De Queen High School this morning as part of Take Your Legislator to School Month!
Representative Vaught began her visit with our 6–12 Student Council members and DQTV students, sharing her personal story, encouraging our student leaders, and reminding them that their voices matter. She also spoke about how students can communicate with their elected officials and become involved in their communities.
Following her time with students, Representative Vaught toured our Animal Science facility and heard firsthand from agriculture students who have been able to learn and gain hands-on experience through the facility.
Representative Vaught serves on both the House Education Committee and the House Agriculture, Forestry & Economic Development Committee and is Chair of the House Agriculture, Forestry & Natural Resources Subcommittee. We appreciated the opportunity for our students to share how these programs are making an impact right here in De Queen.
Thank you, Representative Vaught, for taking the time to visit, listen to our students, and encourage the next generation of leaders! 🐾💛🖤 #LeopardFamily #LeopardPride
