During the February Board meeting, the Board approved the appointment of Chayla Earney as the new Assistant Principal at De Queen Middle School.
Mrs. Earney currently serves as the middle school counselor and brings a strong background in education and student support to this new leadership role. She began her teaching career in 2009, teaching second grade, and has spent the past three years serving as a middle school counselor, working closely with students, families, and staff to support academic and social success.
Mrs. Earney and her husband, Chad, have two sons. Their oldest son, Hunter, is a De Queen High School graduate from the Class of 2017, and their youngest son, Cole, is currently a ninth grader at De Queen Junior High.
“I am excited to continue serving De Queen Middle School in a new capacity,” said Earney. “I look forward to supporting our staff and students in this role and embracing the opportunity to grow as a leader while helping our school continue to move forward.”
De Queen Middle School Principal Brandon Lindly expressed confidence in the Board’s decision, stating, “I am excited to welcome Mrs. Earney into the role of assistant principal. She has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism, and we are confident she will continue to excel as she transitions into this leadership position within the office.”
