Accelerated Learning and AP Programs

De Queen Public Schools strives to provide educational benefits to our accelerated learners.  Through our various programs, students benefit from tailored, individualized instruction in a safe and nurturing environment. Students involved in accelerated programs are more likely to find success in post-secondary education and experience higher college placement and employment satisfaction. Students are placed in advanced classes based on achievement which includes classroom performance and assessments

De Queen Public School offers a Gifted/Talented program through an enrichment program in grades K-2, a pull-out program in grades 3-5, acceleration in programs and advanced placement (AP), and advanced math and English classes in grades 6-12. 

The Arkansas Advanced Placement Incentive Program was established in 1995. The program was designed to improve the course offerings available to high school students throughout the state. De Queen Public Schools offers advanced placement courses in math, science, computer science, social studies, and English.  Students taking AP and State approved honor courses shall receive weighted credit upon completion of the Applicable AP Exam.
