Computer Technician Position

LOCATION: Administration Office,  101 N 9th st. De Queen Arkansas

De Queen Public School is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Technology Technician

 

The position of the Technology Technician should have the ability to provide technical support in a responsive, helpful, courteous, and tactful manner leading to timely and appropriate problem resolution or escalation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • High School Diploma GED required

  • Two Years of Technology College Preferred

  • Experience working with Microsoft Active Directory Network and Google Administration

  • Wide range of computer hardware and software experience in a networked environment

  • Willingness to learn new and emerging public-school K-12 technologies

  • Perform some heavy lifting

  • Successful completion of the pre-employment background checks

                                                                                                                                                 

REPORTS TO: Technology Supervisor

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the school district in a positive manner at all times.
  2. Demonstrate effective customer service strategies to all De Queen School personnel.
  3. Maintain computers and networks.
  4. Install new workstations, laptops, printers, and peripherals, preparing them for use; including recycling.
  5. Provide first-response technical support for the district technology, including testing and troubleshooting workstations, laptops, mobile computers, printers, projectors, SmartBoards and peripherals.
  6. Install, test and troubleshoot software applications (instructional and administrative), being conscious of software requirements, license restrictions, and end-user needs.
  7. Maintain personal and professional technology skills, keeping current with industry trends and bringing that knowledge forward for the good of the organization.
  8. Manage the computer labs, keeping them ready for student use.
  9. Cooperate and coordinate with other members of the technology program.
  10. Communicate positively with students, parents, visitors and staff.
  11. Effectively and positively communicate orally and in writing.
  12. Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
  13. All other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; maintain a clear focus on customer service; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)

Physical Demands: Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; frequent interruptions; moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting; ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
