Krystal Minchew Gifted and Talented Coordinator and Teacher

"Gifted and talented children and youth are those of high potential or ability whose learning characteristics and educational needs require qualitatively differentiated educational experiences and/or services. Possession of these talents and gifts or the potential for their development will be evidenced through an interaction of above average intellectual ability, task commitment and/or motivation, and creative ability." ~ Arkansas Department of Education Definition of Gifted

“Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of ALL students”

We believe all students in our district have the right to an appropriate education. In accordance with Arkansas mandates, we work to identify and differentiate for those students who are gifted and talented through enrichment, pull-out classes, advanced content classes, and Advanced Placement courses.

In our commitment to quality education, the De Queen Public Schools adheres to the Arkansas Department of Education's Gifted and Talented Rules and Regulations. Click HERE for the De Queen Public Schools Gifted & Talented Policy Handbook.
