De Queen Public Schools Pivoting to AMI Days

De Queen Public School Pivoting to AMI Days

After carefully reviewing our recent COVID-19 isolation and quarantine data, as well as consultation with the Arkansas Department of Education and Arkansas Department of Health, De Queen Public Schools has made the decision to close our school district for on-site instruction for the remainder of the week.

Effective Thursday, January 13th, all campuses will close temporarily. This temporary closure will last through January 17th (students will return on Tuesday, January 18th). All students will use Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) days which may include instructional paper packets or digital learning.

This pivot to AMI days is a result of critical staffing issues at multiple campuses in the district. Great care and research went into this decision and we regret the hardships this will cause for some of our families. However, we believe that this is the right step to take for the health and safety of our families, employees, and the community.

Information regarding the Leopards and Lady Leopards basketball game Friday night will be released at a later time.
