De Queen Junior High is Recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the UofA

For the second time this week, De Queen Public Schools is congratulating members of its Leopard Family for being recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas. Students and staff at De Queen Junior High received recognition for outstanding performances and growth on the ACT Aspire Test taken last spring. Principal Bill Huddleston, his faculty, staff, and students have been doing an excellent job and have made our Leopard Family extremely proud!! De Queen Junior High received the following awards from the OEP:

Overall ACT Aspire Growth - Top 3 in the Southwest Region

Math ACT Aspire Growth - Top 3 in the Southwest Region

The OEP creates an annual report entitled the Outstanding Educational Performance Awards where it recognizes schools with high student academic growth. Awards are based on the 2022 content growth score calculated by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. These growth scores reflect how much students at the school improved from 2021 compared to how much they were expected to grow considering prior achievement. The OEP recognizes schools based on Overall Growth, as well as for Growth in Math and English Language Arts separately.

Congratulations again to our Cubs at De Queen Junior High!!! You all have once again proven that it's always a great day to be a Leopard!!!
