I graduated from high school at Gurdon, Arkansas in May of 1984. I attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphia where I graduated in 1988 with a Bacelor of Science in Education. I taught school at Sabine Independent School District in Liberty City, Texas for two years and then came back to Arkansas. I taught fifth grade at Glen Rose School District in Malvern, Arkansas for the next twenty three years. I recieved my Master’s degree in May of 2015 from ASU in Jonesboro in Gifted, Talented and Creative Education.
I began teaching at DeQueen this year, August 2016. I am the GT Coordinator for K-12.
Prior to working for DeQueen, I worked at Glen Rose School District.
I am married to Wade Matlock and have three boys: Seth, Will and Britt. Will is married to Sarina and I have my first grandson, Elijah Wade Matlock born in November of 2016. I have a mini pin named Rika.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, shopping for bargains, and enjoying the outdoors in Arkansas.
